Buckwheat Trivet Workshop with Monica Jon of Nullo Ceramics
Buckwheat Trivet Workshop with Monica Jon of Nullo Ceramics
Enhance your tea experience with a custom scented natural-fill trivet, inspired by the traditional buckwheat-filled sleeping pillows found in our grandmother's homes. We will make these trivets using traditional methods of using buckwheat hulls, cedar, and beans as a natural filling and scenting it with essential oils of your choice for a balanced sensory experience.
In this workshop, you will learn the basics of hand-sewing and embroidery to create a one-of-a kind trivet to take home and enjoy. Pick from a curated selection of high-quality textiles that @atimetraveler has sourced and collected for this workshop. These trivets can be used for your tea ritual or for any vessel that is hot that you would need use to protect a surface.
Additionally, Feature Flora will demonstrate how to brew tea and will be serving tea throughout the duration of the workshop for you to enjoy.
All materials will be provided for the workshop, but feel free to bring your own special fabric or essential oils that you prefer. Feature Flora tea service and light snacks are also included during the workshop.
